Building technology
from the ground up.

I'm Andrew. This is my workshop — a rack of machines running in my house, the network holding them together, and everything I've broken and fixed along the way. It all runs on hardware I own, including the site you're reading.

proxmox ve — host online
docker engine — 6 containers up
omada er707-m2 — wan link established
tailscale — mesh connected
/ 01The workshop

Three benches, one room, and a lot of documentation.

01

The rack

A mini workstation running Proxmox, with an Ubuntu VM hosting every service in Docker. Reverse proxied, TLS terminated, backed up, and reachable from anywhere over a private mesh.

02

The network

An Omada router, managed PoE switch and two WiFi 7 access points, with DNS filtering on a Raspberry Pi. Built so I could learn the gear I'll be working on, not just plug in a box from the ISP.

03

The bench

A Bambu Lab P2S that prints the brackets, mounts and the 10-inch rack the servers actually live in. Plus the electronics side — repairs, teardowns, and the occasional thing that stays broken.

Everything here is live, not a diagram.

Photos back up to my own server instead of someone else's cloud. The game server my friends play on runs three feet from my desk. When something goes down at 1am, I'm the one who fixes it — which is the whole point.
